Testosterone replacement therapy (200 mg testosterone cypionate biweekly) significantly improves upper body strength (grip strength) in older hypogonadal men over a 12-month period.

If you are an older man with clinically low testosterone, testosterone replacement therapy can significantly improve your hand grip strength, which is a key indicator of physical function and frailty. This benefit was observed over a year of treatment. However, you must be monitored for side effects like high red blood cell counts.

GoodSupportsHIGH confidence
Testosterone significantly increased upper body strength as measured by grip strength (P < 0.05)... The delta mean right and left grip strength at 3, 6, and 9 months and delta mean left grip strength at 12 months were all significant (P < 0.05).
