Objectively measured light-intensity physical activity (100-1951 counts/min) is independently and significantly associated with lower 2-hour postchallenge plasma glucose, even after adjusting for moderate-to-vigorous activity and waist circumference.

You do not need to run or lift heavy weights to improve your blood sugar response after meals. Simply replacing time spent sitting (like watching TV) with light movement—such as standing, slow walking, or light chores—can significantly lower your 2-hour blood glucose levels. Aim to break up long periods of sitting with light activity throughout the day.
