Women exhibit lower total daily energy expenditure than men independent of fat-free mass, and physical activity interventions result in smaller fat loss in women compared to men due to metabolic and compensatory dietary responses.

If you are a woman, expect your body to resist weight loss from exercise more than a man's would. This is biological, not a lack of willpower. Your body may compensate by eating more or moving less outside of workouts. Focus on strength training to preserve muscle mass and metabolic rate, and manage expectations regarding scale weight changes.
