Serum from young overweight men after 3 weeks of lifestyle intervention reduces hepatocellular carcinoma (HepG2) cell proliferation and lipid accumulation compared to pre-intervention serum.

While this is an in vitro finding, it suggests that the metabolic improvements from weight loss and exercise may create a blood environment less conducive to liver cancer cell growth.
