Low-intensity resistance exercise with Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) increases muscle blood volume and oxygenation in elderly subjects compared to non-BFR exercise.

For elderly individuals, performing low-weight resistance exercises (20% 1RM) with BFR cuffs (90 mmHg) can increase muscle blood volume and oxygenation more than the same exercise without cuffs. This may be useful for maintaining muscle health with lighter loads, though results should be interpreted cautiously due to small study sizes.
