Exercise improves postprandial satiety signaling (satiety quotient) but increases fasting hunger, leading to a net compensatory increase in energy intake that partially offsets energy expenditure.

Exercise increases both fasting hunger and post-meal satiety. The net effect is a partial compensation of about 30% of expended calories. Manage fasting hunger to maximize the net energy deficit.
