There is clear evidence from large-scale controlled trials that PA carried out over long periods of time produces a dose-dependent reduction in body weight... The effect is clearly present whether the exercise is measured in minutes of activity per week or in kcal energy expended. On the average, the more exercise carried out, the greater the weight loss.
