Obesity in older American adults is associated with a distinct gut microbiome taxonomic signature characterized by reduced species richness and specific shifts in bacterial abundance, including increased Bacilli (Streptococcaceae, Lactobacillaceae) and decreased Clostridia (Christensenellaceae, Clostridiaceae).
