Higher intake of long-chain omega-3 fatty acids is associated with a significantly lower risk of total mortality in women with type 2 diabetes.
For women with type 2 diabetes, maintaining a diet high in long-chain omega-3 fatty acids (found in fish) is linked to a lower risk of death from all causes. The study found a significant trend where those in the highest intake group had a 37% lower risk of mortality compared to those with the lowest intake. Prioritize whole food sources of omega-3s through regular fish consumption.
