Rotating shift work involving night shifts causes significant sleep loss, increased sleepiness, and reduced performance due to circadian misalignment, with negligible long-term physiological adaptation.

If you work night shifts, expect to be sleepier and less accurate, especially in the early morning hours. Your body will not fully 'get used to' this over time. Prioritize sleep hygiene and consider requesting schedule rotations that move forward (morning to night) rather than backward, as this is biologically easier.
