Men experience significantly greater absolute muscle hypertrophy than women in response to heavy resistance strength training, regardless of age.

Men will likely gain more absolute muscle mass than women from the same training program due to physiological differences. This is normal. Women should focus on relative improvements and strength gains rather than comparing absolute size to men.
