Energy balance
A mobile phone intervention (HEART) does not significantly increase exercise capacity (peak oxygen uptake, PVO2) in people with ischaemic heart disease compared to usual care.
While this mobile phone program helps you be more active, it may not significantly improve your heart's ability to use oxygen (PVO2). You might need more intense exercise to see improvements in cardiorespiratory fitness.
GoodRefutesHIGH confidence
Results showed no differences in PVO2 between the two groups (difference -0.21 ml kg-1 min-1, 95% CI: -1.1, 0.7; p = 0.65) at 24 weeks.
Why this rating
Randomized controlled trial with objective measurement of PVO2 and blinded assessors.
