Energy balance

Crohn's disease patients in remission have significantly lower body fat mass compared to healthy controls, despite having normal fat-free mass and energy intake.

Even if your weight is stable, you may have lost body fat compared to healthy people. This is common in Crohn's remission. Focus on maintaining muscle through resistance training and ensure you are eating enough healthy fats to support hormone health, as your body may be oxidizing fat at a higher rate.
