Small increases in skin temperature (0.4°C within the 31-35°C range) can shorten sleep latency and promote deeper sleep without altering core body temperature.

You do not need to significantly heat your room or body to fall asleep faster. A subtle warming of your skin (via bedding) by just 0.4°C is sufficient to shorten sleep latency. This is particularly useful for elderly individuals or insomniacs who may have deficits in normal thermoregulation.
