Adherence

Effective obesity prevention and treatment require a multi-sectoral approach involving education, behavior change, political support, and community participation, rather than solely individual-level interventions.

Public health initiatives should focus on policy changes (food labeling, trade policies), community education, and creating safe environments for physical activity, rather than just telling individuals to 'eat less and move more'.

ModerateSupportsMEDIUM confidence
Obesity prevention and treatment should be based on education, behaviour change, political support, intersectoral collaboration and community participation... Obesity cannot be managed solely at the individual level. Communities, governments, the media and the food industry need to work together to modify the environment so that it is less conducive to weight gain.
