Co-supplementation of whey protein and vitamin D significantly improves lean mass, muscle strength, and physical function in older adults, with particularly strong effects observed in healthy older adults and those not performing resistance exercise.

For older adults, combining whey protein with vitamin D is more effective than either alone for building muscle and improving physical function. This is especially true if you are not doing resistance exercise. Ensure your vitamin D levels are adequate.
