A single bout of heavy resistance exercise transiently elevates mRNA levels of myogenic regulatory factors (myogenin, MyoD, MRF4) in human skeletal muscle, suggesting their involvement in regulating hypertrophy and fiber-type transitions.

Performing heavy resistance training triggers immediate genetic signals in your muscles that help build size and change fiber types. You do not need to optimize anything other than performing the exercise with sufficient intensity (heavy loads) to trigger this response.
