In prediabetic adults with higher baseline fasting blood glucose (≥107 mg/dL) or insulin resistance (HOMA-IR > 1.6), daily ingestion of heat-treated Lactobacillus plantarum OLL2712 significantly reduces fasting blood glucose and glycoalbumin levels, whereas no significant change occurs in the general population with lower baseline glucose.

If you are prediabetic and have higher fasting blood sugar or insulin resistance, adding this specific yogurt to your daily routine for 3 months may help lower your fasting blood sugar. If your baseline blood sugar is already in the normal range, you might not see a change in fasting levels, though your average blood sugar (HbA1c) may still improve slightly.

Fasting blood glucose (FBG) levels did not change significantly in both groups; however, in subgroup analyses including participants with higher FBG levels, FBG levels were significantly reduced only in the OLL2712 group compared to baseline.
