Adherence
Government-imposed confinement and mobility restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic caused a significant decrease in physical activity (vigorous, moderate, and walking) and a significant increase in sedentary behavior (hours spent sitting) among pregnant women.
If you are pregnant and face mobility restrictions, expect your physical activity levels to drop significantly. To counter this, prioritize low-impact indoor movements or walking if permitted, and be aware that 'lack of space' and 'fatigue' are common barriers that need proactive management.
Our results showed significant decreases in physical activity (vigorous, moderate, and walking activities) and EQ-VAS scores, and significant increases in the number of hours the participants sitting per day during COVID-19 confinement compared to the pre-COVID-19 period (Table 3).
Why this rating
Cross-sectional survey with self-reported data and potential recall/social desirability bias, but with a clear pre/post comparison design.
