GLP-1 RAs show potential to slow the progression of neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, by reducing neuroinflammation and potentially acting as neuroprotective agents.

Research suggests GLP-1 medications may help protect against Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease by reducing brain inflammation. While not yet a standard treatment for these conditions, ongoing clinical trials are investigating their use.
