There is a dose-response relationship between physical activity volume (MET-hours/week) and mortality in CHD patients: doubling activity reduces total mortality by 10%, and 10-20 MET-hours/week reduces mortality by 50% compared to inactive patients.
The more you move, the lower your risk of dying from heart disease. Doubling your activity cuts your risk by 10%. Aim for 10-20 MET-hours per week (e.g., 2-4 hours of moderate walking) to cut your mortality risk by half compared to being inactive.
