If you have a high genetic risk for obesity, the quality of fat you eat matters more than you might think. Prioritize omega-3 fatty acids and minimize trans fats and saturated fats, as these nutrients can significantly blunt the BMI-increasing effects of your genetic predisposition. Total fat quantity alone is less predictive than fat type.
