Energy balance

Energy availability (EA) was lower on a low fat (LF) diet compared to low glycemic index (LGI) and very low carbohydrate (VLC) diets during the late postprandial period.

Practitioners should consider the impact of diet type on energy availability during weight maintenance.

StrongSupportsmedium confidence
EA differed negligibly during the early PP period (p=0.99) but significantly in the late period (p<0.0001), being lower on LF than LGI or VLC.
