Peripheral administration of Pancreatic Polypeptide (PP) induces satiety and reduces energy intake in both rodents and healthy humans, primarily through activation of hypothalamic Y4 receptors.

Peripheral PP administration reduces food intake, but its short half-life limits its current therapeutic use. Future therapies may utilize long-acting, enzyme-resistant PP analogues.
