Adolescent consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) is associated with an increased risk of early-onset colorectal cancer (EO-CRC) later in life.
For parents and adolescents, reducing SSB consumption during teenage years may help lower the risk of early-onset colorectal cancer in adulthood. Encouraging healthier beverage alternatives like water, milk, or coffee can be beneficial.
