In patients with diabetes, the combination of a healthy diet style and sleep disorders significantly moderates the relationship with waist circumference, indicating that sleep disturbances can negate or alter the protective effects of healthy dietary patterns on abdominal obesity.

For diabetic patients, managing waist circumference requires attention to both diet and sleep. Even with a healthy diet, sleep disorders can negatively impact abdominal obesity. Prioritize sleep hygiene alongside dietary changes to maximize metabolic benefits.
