Consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) is positively associated with increased waist circumference and BMI in diabetic patients, independent of other dietary factors.

Reduce or eliminate sugar-sweetened beverages to help manage waist circumference and BMI. This is a key dietary modification for diabetic patients.
