In older adults, visceral fat levels significantly decrease over two years, while body weight, muscle mass, and total body fat percentage do not change significantly.

As you age, your visceral fat may naturally decrease even if your weight and muscle mass stay the same. This highlights the importance of monitoring visceral fat, not just weight.
