In the Swedish Obese Subjects study, bariatric surgery was associated with a reduction in cancer incidence (HR: 0.67, 95% CI: 0.53–0.85) at a median follow-up of 10.9 years, which was driven predominantly by reduced cancer incidence in women (HR: 0.58, 95% CI: 0.44–0.77) [125].
