Alternate-day modified fasting (ADMF) improves subjective sleep quality (SSQ) and reduces daytime dysfunction compared to daily calorie restriction, but does not significantly change total sleep quality (PSQI) or daytime sleepiness (ESS).
If you are an overweight woman, ADMF may help you feel more rested during the day and improve your subjective sense of sleep quality, even if it doesn't change your total sleep score or daytime sleepiness levels. Focus on the daytime benefits rather than just sleep duration.
Also, following the ADMF diet led to significant changes in SSQ [−0.69 (0.47) vs. −0.08 (0.40); P = <0.001], and daytime dysfunction [−0.65 (0.57) vs. 0.04 (0.75); P: 0.001] in compare with CR diet.
Why this rating
Randomized controlled trial, small sample size, self-reported sleep measures.

- For patients with Class III obesity (BMI >39.9 kg/m2), metabolic bariatric surgery (MBS) is significantly more effective than any currently approved medication, with BilioPancreatic Diversion (BPD) showing the highest estimated weight loss.Strong
