SASP modulation (senomorphics) offers an alternative to senolytics by targeting the secretome rather than killing cells, with potential benefits for wound healing and fibrosis where cell clearance might be harmful.

Instead of killing senescent cells, some therapies aim to reduce their harmful secretions (SASP). Drugs like Metformin and Rapamycin may have these effects, but their benefits are not solely due to SASP modulation. This approach may be safer in contexts where some senescent cells are needed for healing.
