Caloric restriction and fasting-mimicking diets modulate aging pathways (NF-κB, mTOR, MAPK) to reduce pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-α) and counteract inflamm-aging.

Intermittent fasting or caloric restriction may help reduce chronic inflammation in older adults by modulating key aging pathways. However, these approaches require careful planning and may not be suitable for everyone, especially those with poor nutrition.
