For obese individuals, achieving a 12% body weight loss through a strict caloric deficit (800 kcal/day) for 8 weeks, followed by maintenance, leads to significant reductions in systemic inflammation and improved insulin resistance. This benefit is observed in nearly all participants, suggesting that sustained weight loss is a highly effective intervention for improving metabolic health markers, even if individual protein trajectories vary.
