A 24-hour fast reduces markers of sterile inflammation (NLRP3) in healthy people by activating a specific protein (SIRT3) that protects mitochondria. If you are healthy, a single day of fasting may have anti-inflammatory benefits compared to eating normally, provided you do not have underlying conditions that contraindicate fasting.
