Implantation of the Duodeno-Jejunal Bypass (DJB) device for 12+ months significantly reduces body weight (mean 10.3% TBWL) and BMI in obese patients (BMI ≥ 27 kg/m2).

The DJB device, implanted endoscopically for about a year, can help obese patients lose an average of 10% of their body weight. It is less invasive than surgery but carries a risk of complications (about 13% require early removal). It is particularly useful for patients with Type 2 Diabetes as it also improves blood sugar control.
