The incidence of completed or attempted suicide and occurrences of suicidal ideation or self-harm is very low in individuals receiving GLP-1 receptor agonists (0.047 per 100 person-years) compared to placebo (0.042 per 100 person-years), with no statistically significant difference.

Practitioners can be reassured that GLP-1 RAs do not appear to increase the risk of suicidality in their patients.
