Bariatric surgery is indicated for adults with Type 2 Diabetes and BMI ≥35 kg/m² who cannot control their condition with lifestyle and pharmacological treatment, leading to remission in 40-95% of cases.
If you have Type 2 Diabetes and a BMI of 35 or higher, and lifestyle changes and medications aren't working well, discuss bariatric surgery with your doctor. It can put diabetes into remission for many people, but requires lifelong medical monitoring.
