The concern about tracking becoming obsessive or unsustainable is legitimate, since engagement data shows most people drop detailed monitoring quickly. However, that argues for smarter, lighter-touch tools, not zero awareness of what you eat.
Use a flexible tracking method, such as a smartphone app with periodic check-ins and optional coaching, rather than obsessive daily logging or no tracking at all.
